An experienced first party claims handler with a keen eye for detail and a flair for investigation skills. The key purpose of this role is to deal with fire and theft claims as efficiently as possible, utilising your knowledge to ensure correct indemnity decisions are made. You will be confident in dealing with customers at the telephone and conducting interviews this way in order to establish the bona fides of the claims presented.
Process fire and theft claims in line with existing claims philosophy
Ensure that DPA, TCF and any other regulatory requirements are adhered to
Liaise with internal support team and external suppliers to ensure delivery of excellent customer service
Answer inbound calls from customers and representatives in a professional manner, answering queries, complaints and providing updates on claims
Be able to identify potential third party claims exposure in theft claims, specifically where stolen vehicles may be recovered damaged
Identity suspicious claims and flag them to the Fraud Investigation Team
Ensure that complaints are recorded on the complaints system in an accurate and timely manner
Provide support to the Team Manager by ensuring delivery of own performance against agreed objectives, KPIs and SLAs
Plan and execute strategic initiatives to agreed timelines
Ensure a relevant level of technical understanding with continuous development and learning.
To undertake any individual or team task or activity reasonably requested and in line with the company values
Qualifications
Secondary education or equivalent with demonstrable ability in numeracy skills and written English
Experience
Minimum 12 months experience as a Motor Claims Handler.
Skills
Strong literacy and numeracy skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a polite telephone manner
Capability to vary approach
Tact and assertiveness when dealing with customers who may be distressed or angry
Ability to take on increased ownership and responsibility when necessary
The ability to work individually and proactively, as well as part of a team
What are we looking for ?

We are looking for an experienced first party claims handler with a keen eye for detail and a flair for investigation skills. The key purpose of this role is to deal with fire and theft claims as efficiently as possible, utilising your knowledge to ensure correct indemnity decisions are made. You will be confident in dealing with customers at the telephone and conducting interviews this way in order to establish the bona fides of the claims presented. Experience: Minimum 12 months experience as a Motor Claims Handler. At least: Secondary education or equivalent with demonstrable ability in numeracy skills and written English
